GoFlix is one of the larger, more popular services out there, boasting a fairly large and active user base.

Pros:

  • Large service
  • Fast turnaround time
  • Their DVD rental system is mature

Cons:

  • Site is “broken” in some areas, and there are some obvious typos, which lead you to wonder what other things they might have overlooked!
  • There is a fair amount of negative criticism regarding their customer service

Site Usability

Can browse titles by studio, director, or genre. Page layout is a bit cumbersome, which makes it difficult to scroll through a large number of videos to find something interesting. All-in-all, their site could use a complete redesign so that it catches up with their actual service.

    GoFlix is a promising service that is somewhat hampered by a web site that isn’t as functional as it should be and a customer support team that has been criticized in the past.

    Takes around 5 days to receive the next title. Plus nothing is taken from the top of our queue. Many times the wrong dvd has been in the case or damaged. We are unhappy after 1 month.

    Service has been inconsistent at best, with DVDs taking up to 2 weeks to arrive. Several times I had to email after returning a DVD and it not being marked as returned. Eventually, they went over a month without shipping me anything despite a few emails from me, so I canceled my account. They also seem to send the most recently added, NOT the highest priority in the queue.

    Web site slow, never reply to emails to support, 2 movies went over 2 months and they never removed them from the queue. I canceled the account since I was paying for a service that was not delivering.
